What is Psychosynthesis

What is Psychosynthesis?

Psychosynthesis counselling was founded by the Italian psychiatrist Doctor Roberto Assagioli, a contemporary of Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung.

Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to counselling which honours the uniqueness of the individual and their life's journey, taking account of the whole person - body, feelings, mind, sexuality and spirituality.

The psychosynthesis counsellor supports the client in exploring the suffering caused by their difficulties and crises and regards this suffering as a symptom that something important is trying to emerge.

Psychosynthesis encourages us to look at our difficulties with greater compassion, and open to our potential for self-healing and personal growth and for living more meaningful, enriching and soulful lives.
